Well, let's catch up!
After the 4 month layoff, Chris has made a career change into healthcare and has accepted a job with H&R Accounts! He will work side by side with his father who has been doing this for several years. What a mentor, right?! Covering Texas and Arizona, Chris will be located in our home in Omaha, working to get the hospitals in those states to outsource their revenue cycle to H&R! Sounds crazy, huh? He is training in the home office this week in Moline, IL and says he is "drinking out of a fire hydrant"! All we can say at this point is it will be nice to get a paycheck for a change!
Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support! We love you all and are so thankful for you!

whirlwind!
well i was pumped to be a blogger and then failed at consistency! not good.
the last four months of our lives have been a whirlwind! a career opportunity for me took chris and i to south beach miami, the never-ending snowstorms, a few holidays, christmas blizzards, a wedding in chicago for new year's and an intense job search have all kept us very busy. who ever thought the first year of marriage would bring such chaos! certainly not me!
i would have to say that the heaviest thing on our hearts these days is the job search. after yet ANOTHER unfortunate round of substantial lay-offs, chris is back at it. the last few months have been a wild ride but we're trying to see the lessons in all of this. a friend of mine the other day said, 'WAIT is a 4-letter word in my book'..... now THAT i'll have to agree with! patience is (supposed to be) a virtue, right? anyway, my husband has been working his tail off and i could not be more proud! in asking for guidance, God has led us to a couple verses in particular which i am happy to share:
if we were not believers, i don't know how we'd ever get through this. it's definitely been a character-building couple of months! after receiving a few good phone calls this morning, it seems as though the end is getting closer! there's always a lesson and hind sight is 20/20. i can't wait look back and praise God for teaching us so much and getting us through another season of life!
now after all of that heavy stuff, i'm going to post a few pictures from the holidays! hopefully you had as much fun as we did!

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. Those who doubt should not think they will receive anything from the Lord; they are double-minded and unstable in all they do.
James 1:2-8
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18

I'm a BLOGGER!
so here i am, pretty excited to be blogging! i've always wanted to jump on the band wagon and i finally took the leap! what a great way to keep your family and friends up to date on your life, right? :)
i wondered if i had anything to blog about but soon decided that by embarking on this journey called marriage i'd have plenty to write! i've been told by experienced married couples that even after several years, they are still learning new things about their spouse. not only that, God is constantly doing something in our lives and the topic doesn't get much better than that! i'm going to consider this my intro and head to bead. i'd love to keep writing but unfortunately, it's getting late. i'll leave you with the words of a song that have been tugging at my heart these last couple of days. maybe the lyrics will get you thinking too...
"it's your life"
Francesca Battistelli
this is the moment, it's on the line
which way you gonna fall?
in the middle between wrong and right
but you know after all
it's your life, what you gonna do?
the world is watching you
every day, the choices you make
say what you are and who your heart beats for
it's an open door, it's your life
are you who you always said you would be?
with a sinking feeling in your chest
always waiting for someone else to fix you
tell me when did you forget?
it's your life, what you gonna do?
the world is watching you
every day, the choices you make
say what you are and who your heart beats for
it's an open door, it's your life
to live the way that you believe
this is your opportunity
to let your life be one that lights the way
it's your life, what you gonna do?
the world is watching you
every day, the choices you make
say what you are and who your heart beats for
it's an open door, it's your life
